The leaders of fashion houses believes that the world has changed and luxury must adapt to this innovation.
The French holding Kering SA, which owns the well-known fashion brands Gucci, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Alexander McQueen, Brioni and Yves Saint Laurent, has announced that they will no longer use animal fur. This was stated on the company’s website.
It is noted that by the fall of next year, brands will use exclusively faux fur.
“When it comes to animal welfare, our company has always shown a commitment to improving the way we operate in our own supply chain and in the luxury goods sector in general,” quotes the press office of Kering CEO François-Henri Pinault.
It is known that back in 2019, Kering SA published an animal welfare standard that talks about fur and other products of this kind. It also states that this standard is in addition to the rejection of the use of fur and will be applied in all brands.
Meanwhile, most of the company’s fashion brands have long been using only artificial fur in their work. These are Gucci, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta and Alexander McQueen. In the collections of Yves Saint Laurent and Brioni, one could sometimes see natural fur.
We will remind, earlier the British model and reality TV star India Reynolds was photographed completely naked for a social campaign for the protection of animals.
